Your building might collect organic waste and if it doesn't there are lots of other places to drop off your food scraps. There are so many organizations with wonderful composting operations. Each site may have different guidelines for what they will compost so be sure to check ahead of time. Commercial composting is a little trickier so be conscious when you purchase food served in sturdy cardboard or plant-based plastics. Before you make a purchase think about where the packaging might end up. If you can't trace your commercial organic waste to an industrial compost or recycling facility it is likely being sent to landfill or incinerated for "waste to energy."
